Today, I would like to talk about something else.
What unfolded yesterday in the Fediverse was an obscene spectacle, where racism—or rather, Nazi-style racism—revealed the absolute worst of the worst.
At this point, a question arises: is it right for a developer—driven by a desire to make a breakthrough and attract admirers—to surround themselves with such horrible people? Is it worth it—whether to share one’s ideas or to satisfy one’s own ego—to associate with such inhumane beings?
Certainly not—not in a million years.
But then one has to wonder: what kind of person is this individual, really? Are we sure he's a good person or is he just someone who chooses to be kind, someone who barely uses a mask because he feels it's necessary?
The doubts remain, and perhaps they always will; but for me, something has changed—in a way that is irreversible.
The die is cast.
