Every time I see him, I remember a crazy friend of mine. Herbie was having dinner, or rather, a snack, at one of the outdoor tables in Perugia during Umbria Jazz. Stanley Clarke and Omar Hakim were also there. We went over to ask for an autograph, and this friend of mine almost besieged Hancock, saying she was in love with him, that he was the most handsome man in the universe, and things like that... 🙈😆
It happened in the last century, we were all younger 😉
