I live in Michigan.
I stopped by a small store today and was chatting with the owner, a middle aged white woman. She mentioned a local library closing soon for good and I said that I think a lot of things will be shutting down soon, with all that is happening. She immediately tensed a little and said that things are going to be getting better very soon, not worse.
I did not push the point. I am not the type of person that enjoys getting into pointless arguments, but it struck me as fascinating that despite all of the evidence pointing to a complete economic meltdown in the U.S., there are "believers" who feel that we are on course for a sort of golden age. I did not realize that there were people who think this until just now.
Whatever you think, there is certainly no doubt that big things will be happening. Huge.
